Sonlife Ministry Seed

In November, 1983, Sonlife Quartet travelled to Nashville for a weekend recording session at Goldmine Studio. Sonlife Quartet’s bass singer is Frank Poland. His son, Danny Poland, a high school 9th grader, accompanied the quartet to Nashville. This was Danny’s first exposure to a recording studio. The following is Danny’s reflection on his first day in a recording studio:

“Many, many moons ago (1983) just after my fifteenth birthday I stepped foot in a recording studio. Goldmine Studios in Nashville. Little did I know that this would be the beginning of my career in music. Check out all the gear that’s now called vintage. Sony/MCI recording console (plasma meter bridge) with matching JH-24 Multitrack recorder, API Lunchbox, Auratone speakers (we use to call them horror tones), and a Moog Synthesiser to boot. Man I was styling back then with my IZOD shirt, dock siders, and white wash jeans.”

From this weekend recording session of studio exposure, Danny proceeded to work at Lamb Recording Studio in Chattanooga on weekends and after school. Upon high school graduation, he enrolled at Middle Tennessee State University where he earned his Recording Industry Management degree. From the weekend with Sonlife Quartet in Nashville, Danny has proceeded to excel in the music industry in Nashville, TN. Sonlife ministry is so honored and proud to know that they played a small role in helping to sow the seed that grew into the following accomplishments.
